Dropping as part of Nike’s 2023 Air Max Day festivities, the Nike Air Max 1 ‘86 OG 'Big Bubble - Red' revives the debut colourway of the performance runner turned sneaker icon, complete with the bigger visible Air bubble found on the initial launch pairs from 1986. Like the original, this retro release features an upper built with a blend of breathable white mesh, grey synthetic suede overlays, and contrasting hits of University Red on the mudguard and signature Swoosh. Additional crimson accents land on molded eyelets and Nike Air branding on the tongue and heel overlay. Restored to its original dimensions, an exposed Air-sole unit nestled in the heel of the white polyurethane midsole delivers a cushioned ride.
